Some friends, who wanted to watch the Rumble convinced me to
give it shot even though they knew I had quit watching. So
here’s my take:
Flair/Batista beat the Dudley’s – Flair is the
man and I don’t mind Batista as much as some people,
but this match was still boring.
Rey Mysterio beat Nobles – Very
quick match, did Noble even get 2 moves in? This should been
on Heat instead.
Brock beat Holly - I lmao at the this
match. Where do I even begin, Hollu has no business in a main
event world title match.
He’s big, athletic and has the look, but he has no charisma
or following, in short he’s not OVER. The match only
lasted about 10 minutes with 6 minutes of it in a rest hold,
I mean the Brock Lock., which is one of the worse holds I’ve
ever seen and killed an already dead match. I realize Holly
is one of the oldest WWE stars, but lets face it, he has never
been and never will be over. Some guys are just mid-carders
and curtain jerkers, there’s nothing wrong with that.
Hell, he’s in the WWE, thats the dream of thousands of
indy workers.
HHH and HBK – match sucked, finish sucked. This match
had no chance with me as I am tired of HHH beating everyone
but his buddy HBK. HHH has stomped everyone on the Raw roster
so they have to bring in Benoit for him. Oops, I’m getting
ahead of myself. It wouldn’t matter if they had the best
match ever, the match, like RAW, sucks.
Royal Rumble – pretty
entertaining match, even though you pretty much knew either
Goldberg or
Benoit was going to
win to set up the crossover Wrestlemain title matches.
Which leads me back to main gripe, HHH and the booking. I remember
back in 80’s, when Flair was the NWA champ, that Flair
didn’t look as dominate as HHH. He’s beaten RVD,
Booker T, Kane, Nash, Steiner, HBK, and Goldberg. Worse than
him beating all of them is that, some of those matches were
the worse of the year. Worse feud, most boring. A true main
eventer has to be able carry a mid carder, which is why I don’t
consider Brock a true main eventer. Remember when Brock couldn’t
carry a green Cena in their feud, but the following month Angle
did. Well HHH cant carry anyone. His matches with Nash, Kane
and Steiner were among the worse ever. Yet he still gets the
strap and now he gets new blood at Mania, great, just great.
BTW, I still didn’t watch RAW the following Monday and
still don’t plan to.
